1967 Greeves MX4

In 1967, Greeves was still a contender in the Motocross scene. Although crude in many ways and facing ever increasing pressure by the Huskys and C-Z’s of the period, Bert Greeves still sold a ton of motorcycles in America. It was the only motorcycle with a cast aluminum mainframe at the time, and one of two with the unusual “Earles” front end. The other being DKW/Sachs. Sadly, by 1968, Greeves would begin to see its share of the market begin to dwindle and by 1973 its sales numbers were almost nil. This Greeves is a single cylinder twin port design much like the CZ’s of the period. It was restored by Bill West with final “tweaking” by Kelly Owen.
