1973 Honda CR250 Elsinore MX

This bike is essentially a “Brand New” Honda. In 1973 a young gentleman bought this Elsinore, took it home, started it and rode it up and down his street one time. He parked it in the garage and unfortunately and unexpectedly passed away the next day. His wife, after 42 years, took the bike to a local motorcycle dealer in Virginia and asked what he would give her for it. He probably only paid $500.00 for it but I didn’t ask. He called the Owen Collection and sent a video to me of the bike being started on July 15, 2015.

After some negation, the bike was purchased for the museum. The same week an identical N.O.S. Elsinore sold on EBay for $18,000.00 and it was not quite as nice as this one. I cleaned the bike, put new gripes on it and sprayed a portion of the pipe black because it was badly stained. Otherwise it is as it left Honda of Japan in 1973; a true original.
